Traynor’s parent company Yorkville Sound was founded in 1963 in downtown Toronto out of the back room of a music store called Long & McQuade. The stores repairman at that time, Peter Traynor, developed a bass guitar amplifier that was dubbed the Traynor Dyna-Bass. Shortly thereafter, store owner Jack Long established Yorkville Sound, a small company that began producing guitar amplifiers and sound system equipment in addition to their bass guitar amplifiers. Throughout the following decades Yorkville has continued to introduce new products that have proven to be incredibly successful, allowing the company to become a global force in the design, production and distribution of sound reinforcement and instrument amplification products. |
